’78

We started as “Deam Manufacturing, Inc.” by Steven D. Deam. Located on Wayne Trace Road, and manufactured rubber mold components for Habegger Engineering, Inc.

’79

Relocated to 2216 East Pontiac Street and began manufacturing precision rubber transfer, compression, and injection molds for Albert Trostel Packings, International Packings Corp., & Elasto-Tec.

’81

Purchased our first CNC machine, a Hardinge CHNC Lathe, and also purchased our present location at 4501 Earth Drive.

’85

Expanded with the purchase of two adjacent lots and made the first addition to the original building – what is now the milling department.

’86

Robert N. Lindner bought the company.

’89

The second addition to our building was made; what is now our front offices. The company name was changed to “Fort Wayne Mold & Engineering, Inc”.

’91

A third addition to the building was completed – what is now our E.D.M. and Insert Grinding Departments. The lunchroom & Engineering Department were remodeled and the Prototype Department was completed.

’99

Gary A. Gibson and Richard A. Schmidt entered into an agreement to purchase Fort Wayne Mold & Engineering, Inc. from Robert N. Lindner. The fourth addition to our building, our current steel storage, assembly, and Plate Grinding Departments was completed.

The building at 3340 Land Drive was purchased.

We became ISO 9001:2000 certified.

Gary Gibson retired from FWME after 30 years at FWME. Darrell Beverly, Brad Fiedler & Roger Marley entered into an agreement to purchase FWME with Rick Schmidt from Gary Gibson.

One of our best years in company history allowed us to reinvest by replacing one of our large machining centers.

Added two Hardinge CNC lathes.

’12

Added new YCM machining center and Hardinge CNC lathe. Remodeled engineering department and added new QC room.

’13

Added a new YCM machining center and a Mitsubishi EDM. Remodeled and moved prototype department.

’14

Added a new YCM machining center and Hardinge Sub-spindle lathe. Remodeled front offices.

’15

Completed another record year in growth. Added new YCM machining center.

’16

Added two new machining centers and added new shop offices in old prototype area.

’17

Added new Mitsubishi EDM (replacing an existing EDM). Reached another growth milestone.

’18

Became ISO 9001:2015 certified and obtained ITAR registration.
